Sadly while the two Bob chancers are in charge of this great club . Nothing will change. Without doubt the best support of all the London clubs. But run by the biggest bunch of cunts in football. To say its heartbreaking is an understatement.

i was there aged 16. lacey's coach barking road, most of the coach were necking cans all the way round the old north circ, getting off the coach for a pi** at each set of lights then running after it as it pulled away. west ham seemed to mob every pub all the way there.
we scored early and made it feel like a long time to hold on but once willie young had brought down paul allen we knew the football gods would look after us. great day

I was there,20 years old and another who went to every game of that great cup run. Met my pals in a cafe over Mile End at 10am ish and the day got better and better. My old man came over to the IOD from Greenwhich that night and the mother of all piss ups followed. Still cant decide whst game is my all time fave out of this one or the EINTRACHT game.

Was at a fucking wedding in the midlands. My dad (Arsenal fan) me and my mum managed to get most of the second half in our hotel room. I was pissed but my main memory is me and my mum (west Ham) screaming at Willie Young after that tackle!

My Nan & Grandad lived in Hubbard Street in Stratford, moved to Asland Road (off Bridge Road) on Cup Final day. Carpet was already in, next was TV, sofa, and me and my brother. Set for the day with all the Fup Final TV...and saw them parade the cup in West Ham Lane the following day...

4 major finals in 6 years. What odds would you get for that happening again.

It was my first trip to Wembley and I was 8. Wonderful memories of that cup run with my Dad going to Orient, home games against Swansea and VIlla and then the trip to Villa Park for the semi. Didn't get to go to the replay but remember listening to that on Sport on 2 as it was back then.

Having won the FA cup, I then get another trip to the Twin Towers for the Charity Shield and then another trip in 81 for the League Cup final. I'm thinking to myself these trips are going to be a regular occurrence..............how little did I realise at 8 years of age !!

AOI... went to both WBA games ... I still say there has never been a better goalkeeping performance than what Parksey did the 1st game... baggies were a fine fine team during that period

On the morning of the 3rd round a bunch of us were about to leave to for West Brom when my missus asked me what chance we had of winning the cup. I said that according to the bookies a 200-1 chance. She asked me to put a fiver on us because she had a 'feeling' that it might be our year. Being a prat I ignored her and didn't bother. A grand was a lot then and she's never let me forget it.

Anyway, went to all the games including the final. I'm one of the lucky ones who saw all our triumphs from '64 to '80.
Hard to believe we've done fuck all since yet have such massive support, made up mostly of fans who've never seen any success.

Yes good story that one Soldo.

Crossy's story about him and Paul Allen is very funny.

Some good and bad memories of the time... old man had taken us to see q few rounds of the cup run (West Brom, Villa... 1st leg Semi final) and said he was on the look out for Final Tickets... we missed the game the cup vouchers came out so we was screwed... had the hump with the old man so decided to watch it round me Mates (2 brothers) house with their old man... all West ham... obviously great result... their Dad was going mental watching it and started running round the garden going mental at the final whistle ... he then drove us all to the local bookies (he had a fiver... a lot in those days... at mental odds I'd imagine) ... went to the newsagents next door and bought a big cigar... and the drove us to the Wimpy bar in Canvey... told the owner to allow us whatever we wanted... whilst he went over the haystack pub and bought everyone a drink... we stayed outside after with a bottle of coke each... I rolled inabout 9pm after he drunkenly dropped us off.... old man asked if I had a good time... and yeah all these years later I feel guilty I should have watched it with him... but... it was a fucking lovely Wimpy...!!

Re: 39 Years ago today - May 10th 1980
I was 7 years old and that was the match which made me become a fan.

Still waiting for the next trophy.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs must look at us and think...

"Every year they seem to get worse or at best stand still yet they keep attracting fans like nobody else - What gives?"

Proof that most football fans love their club regardless of any form of consistent success. That would be nice now and again though.
